1124? To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/CTS.{C. Trot Salt - Carburation} c. HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/CTS.{C. Trot Salt - Carburation}2/MH.{M. Huckerby}11.11.38. CYLINDER BORE WEAR. (Chassis Engine). 2. With reference to RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}/Vs.{J. Vickers}2/EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}1.11.38 concerning cylinder blocks in special material. There are 8 such blocks instructed in Nickel-Chrome-Molybdenum. Four of these should be completed to drawing as instructed, and the remaining four should not be finally machined in the bores. The reason for this is, that we wish to fit some special short inserts, which will be supplied. This necessitates special machining of the top of the bore and a short insert is pressed in (of special material), then finally the bores will be finished in the usual way.
