X9770 To CJ. from DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} and E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. to WOr.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} RG.{Mr Rowledge} BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} CONFIDENTIAL. E1/M8. 2. 24. RE. DRAUGHTSMAN FOR LE CANADELHenry Royce's French residence. X.9770 XX.1775 X.1031. Referring to the above we should like to make it clear that the original recommendation of the design committee was not to send one of the WW. men to Le CanadelHenry Royce's French residence. We have since heard from Mr. Rowledge that a telegram has been sent to Mr. Royce suggesting the Mr. Everndon should go out. We agree that Mr. Everndon is the best man at the moment if anybody goes, but this immediate absence must necessarily delay the designs we were preparing on EAC.3. for sending to Mr. Royce. Furthermore if Mr. Everndon is to be away any length of time we should say it would be necessary to get someone down here in his place, of suitable ability, to avoid delaying EAC.1V chassis.
