Dear Sirs, We beg to acknowledge receipt of your letter of the 14th instant, addressed for the attention of Commdr. Matravers, and would assure you that we are working on the job so as not to hold up production of your cards pending the discussions with your Mr. Hardy. As far as we are concerned, the position is that we are producing rollers to your drawings F.61239 and F.87552, oversize, to the revised drawings handed to us by your Mr. Booth of your Drawing Office when the undersigned visited your Works on Friday week last. Production of rollers to your standard drawings F.61239 and F.87552 has been suspended. This is in accordance with the arrangements made with your Mr. Hardy on the telephone on Saturday morning last. Improvements. Our action as regards improvements is actually as given in the 2nd paragraph of your letter. In other words, we are investigating the question of improvements, but such improvements will be submitted to you, and will not be incorporated in production until we have your sanction. Consequently, we are not proceeding with rollers at the moment on the lines as suggested in the third paragraph of your letter. This is in accordance with the policy as discussed by your Mr. Hardy of the Experimental Dept. and our Commdr. Matravers. We do definitely appreciate the importance of the necessary investigations and are pushing ahead with them as quickly as possible and will be in a position to collaborate with your Mr. Hardy further in the very near future.
