X.7720 BALLAST RESISTANCE.
--------------------------

I do not feel that the running of one car represents sufficient experience to justify us departing from the use of silver soldering the ballast resistance wire to its terminal and adopting in its place the use of ordinary solder.

If this part were to fail it means the ignition is out of commission, and personally I do not see why we should take this risk in any case, and certainly not until all the experimental cars fitted in this manner have performed satisfactorily for a reasonable length of time.

We note from past experience that what appears to be perfectly safe on one car is entirely wrong when it comes to bulk.
