| 4796/ To Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} E.1/HP.2.10.34. re Mr Geoffrey Smith's Bentley. Replying to your memo Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}3/R.1.10.34, the points which Mr Smith has criticised on the Bentley are generally receiving attention. We notice that he found the brakes stood up very well from the point of view of wear. The oil burning on the nearside back brake is a leakage with which we are familiar. We are taking steps to provide an altogether better scheme for sealing the axle against oil leaks. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
