We trust you will shortly be able to let us have an experimental EAC. fan, as upon the completion of these fan experiments depends our being able to proceed with other items which are awaiting our attention, e.g. the generator engine motor starting scheme, of which I spoke to you.

In this connection, this will confirm that you will have the matter of the EAC. A starter motor looked into with a view to deciding definitely that this particular motor is unsuitable for our experimental chassis.

You will remember I pointed out, owing to this motor having a larger core cross sectional area than we mean to standard eventually, it will for this particular job be more suitable. The present field windings should be removed and the whole of the available space filled up with one winding with as many turns as possible, with the ordinary series winding conductor.

It was also arranged that you would obtaining for us from production a standard Goshawk starter motor.

Another item we are anxious to have from you as soon as possible is the metal tube for the static induction ignition experiments, as mentioned to you in conversation.
