To EFC. from R.{Sir Henry Royce} Copy to CJ. " HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} ORIGINAL 6EX 8 R5/G28/6/20. X.294 X.3817 Y.3928 X.1613 RE LOW TENSION CONTACT POINTS. With reference to low tension contact points, we have replaced the tungsten ones on the Buick with others also of tungsten found on a Delco vibrator. These have run quite a long time and tungsten points ought not to fail on our battery ignition. I should certainly try another make. Be sure that you test some of exactly the same make as the Delco Company use, and to be sure of this it would be better to get them from the Delco ignition and fit your doubtful ones on the Delco ignition in place of them. This would prove whether our ignition was different from the Delco or whether it was the metal of the points that failed. In sending 6 EX. away, send also platinum points usually fitted, so that if the efficiency of the ignition is at all doubtful the usual contacts can be fitted.
