4265 Exptl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}17/KW. 30th October, 1934. Messrs. Shell-Mex & B.P. Ltd., Shell-Mex House, Victoria Embankment, LONDON, W.C.2. For the attention of Mr. Callingham. Dear Sirs, Thank you for your letter of the 26th, together with a copy of yours of the 10th October, which we cannot trace ever having received. Our only comment on the oil which you recommend is that it appears to us to be rather heavy at low temperatures. It does not appear to have such a flat viscosity curve as other oils which have been recommended to us for the same purpose. As an example, Price's Motorine M has the following figures :- Specific Gravity .907 Viscosity at 70ºF.{Mr Friese} 1979" " " 140ºF.{Mr Friese} 190" " " 200ºF.{Mr Friese} 68" Flash Point, Close 395ºF.{Mr Friese} We shall be glad to have your comments on these figures. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
