Dear Wilks,

Having been prodded into activity on the matter of fuel consumption by Mr. Taub's provocative paper, we are somewhat surprised to find that we are not as impotent and deponent as we thought after listening to his discourse. In other words, we have failed to improve upon our present part throttle consumptions appreciably without producing other and undesirable results.

We suggest it might be to our mutual advantage if we had a talk round some of the figures. There are also various other interesting things we have been discovering. Would it be convenient if I came over about Tuesday, May 17th, arriving about 1.0'clock?

The little 12 H.P. is going very well, but it still seems impossible to get 5,000 miles out of a pair of rear tyres.

Yours sincerely,
