Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}I/ML.13.8.40. EMPLOYEES' CARS ON COMPANY'S BUSINESS. It is almost essential that those who are engaged in supervising the manufacture or development of guns, should be in a position to use their own cars and be paid for this. In the first place, there are visits to sub-contractors, and in the second place, the gun job is about the most widely distributed section on the ground. Neither Park Leys, Ve's place, nor Sinfin are on the 'bus route. I would therefore be glad if you would agree Mr. Blackstone having permission to use his own car and be paid for same, on the Company's business, in the same way that you have already granted permission to Mr. F.J.Hardy for this work.
