TO W.A.Robotham Esq. (Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd.) 3. DATE 30-7-36. I also enclose the reprints of four papers which, as indicated, you may retain with the photostats. In addition to these enclosures I am including three reports which may be of interest to you, but I would like to have these back as soon as you have finished with them. With regard to the Bentley spark plug situation, have you tried earthing the central electrode of the plug and pushing the current across from the body or shell of the plug? This appears to be very satisfactory as regards point burning and may go some way towards alleviating your trouble. I mentioned to West yesterday that if you could fit 18 mm. plugs to a Bentley I had some B.G. aviation models, about two years old, but which are quite satisfactory, and might give you a lead as to what is required for this engine. I look forward to seeing you at the beginning of September, but if, in the meantime, I can answer any specific questions please do not hesitate to write to me. Yours sincerely, F.R.Banks P.S. Further to our telephone conversation to-day, I will do my best to come up on Wednesday next, the 5th August, arriving about 11.30 a.m. FRB FRB/EB | ||
