Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} c.c. to EWT. for R.R.Inc. ORIGINAL Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}3/LG15.9.21. X3896 X4219 GOSHAWK 11, PETROL LEVEL INDICATOR IN TANK. Mr. Olley has recently pointed out in his memo. CY2/G19.8.21. that Petrol Level Indicators which have a horizontal glass have proved themselves to be unreliable, owing to the sweat which forms on the inner face of the glass draining on to the magnetic needle which causes it to rust and get stuck up. We are in agreement with this criticism. The Humber Car which we had was fitted with a petrol level indicator of this type. The indicator was frequently out of order because of the magnetic needle having become rusted up. We recommend, therefore, that we should re-consider the petrol level indicator on Goshawk 11. so that it will not have this fault. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
