Our Ref WCD/RMM Your Ref Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}12/AP. 1020 BUCKINGHAM AVENUE, TRADING ESTATE, SLOUGH, BUCKS. 23rd August, 1937. RECEIVED AUG 24 W.A.Robotham, Esq., Messrs. Rolls Royce Ltd. D E R B Y. Dear Mr. Robotham, Thanks for yours of the 21st inst., and I propose to come up on Thursday. I will let you know the time of my arrival later. By the way, I can tell you of a very bad feature on the Park Ward Body of the Bentley Car that I purchased. It is that the fitting of the front door, when open, leaves a gap of an inch or more, and the metal covering of the door protrudes, forming a sharp edge. I had a dreadful accident with it on Saturday night. It took the top off the thumb of one of my best friends. His hand was in a terrible state and the Doctor doubts very much if he will ever grow the top of his thumb again. Needless to say, somehow I am going to have this door altered, and I do think you should take it up with Park Wards. Yours sincerely, W. C. Devereux W.C.Devereux. DICTATED, BUT NOT SIGNED BY MR.
