To DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} X5870 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}4/LG27.4.27. FRONT AXLES. 4457 With reference to DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}2/M25.4.27. We agree with 1. 2. and 4 of the points you raise. With regard to high speed wobbles, we do not think that the lightened type axle is really better than the old type axle in this respect, possibly owing to the fact that the steering is lighter with it and so there is less opposition to wobbles. Other things being equal, we should expect the out-of-centrepoint to reduce wobbles. You will doubtless be altering the geometry of the 20 HP. steering at the same time as the new axle. We consider this is very vital. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
