CONDITIONS.
Test carried out on road wheel dynamometer - 49-GB car - fitted with 20" matrix.

SUMMARY OF TEST.
REPORT ON RADIATOR TESTS ON 40/50 HP. CAR. 49-GB.

Tests were taken to determine the amount of heat dissipated by the radiator under the following conditions :-

(1) Water temp. in top tank regulated to be as near 90°C as possible for each test.

(2) The air flow through the radiator core was entirely due to that induced by the fan as the test was conducted with the car on the dynamometer.

(3) Three tests were taken -
(a) With bonnet and standard fan.
(b) " " " 3-blade fan.
(c) Bonnet removed and standard fan.

The dissipation of the radiator was measured by the temperature drop in the radiator and the mass flow of the water.

The water flow was measured by a venturi-meter in the bottom water pipe.
