With reference to the tail lamp for Continental use, referred to at last Thursday's conference, I have looked up the correspondence, including your memo. ELO/HP15.7.33, and it seems that really all we want on the Bentley is what we have on the Rolls-Royce, namely:- for cars which are in the main sold in this Country, wiring in the ordinary way for the tail lamp and stop light, and on the left-hand side provision made, with small bracket and wiring, for an ordinary plain red light - this the Continental Authorities accept as being sufficient when a car is running on triptyques..as a matter of fact the regulations do not admit demand any light on this side at all but if it is fitted it saves being questioned by the Police. As regards cars that are sold for use in Countries where the right hand is the rule of the road, these should be dealt with in the same way as for Rolls-Royce cars, viz. provision made for the wiring on the left-hand side for the tail lamp and stop light. c. | ||
