Y471 To Wor. {Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} From Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 2/MJ.2.3.33. ROAD WHEELS. Replying to Wor. {Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} 9/GR. {George Ratcliffe} 1.3.33. We are arranging to have both of our 25 HP. cars fitted up with Rudge Whitworth wheels. We are fitting to one car the actual wheels which were removed from your own car 17-G4. Mx. {John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} reports that there was a lot of trouble with these. We want to try and reproduce it because we do not understand why it should happen except it is essential that the Rudge Whitworth wheel with the cone surface of the nut must be lubricated before the wheels are tightened. The other car is having a new set. These wheels will be fitted to the 25 HP. car which we are proposing to submit to Sales in a short time and which will have the silent second, new dampers, axle control, air silencer, Rudge Whitworth wheels.
