To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/NRC.{N. R. Chandler} RIG FOR TESTING BORG & BECK CLUTCH SPRINGS. On trying out the above rig, we find that the friction of the clutch fingers amounts to a force of 80 to 100 lbs. applied to the pressure plate, and this friction renders the rig insufficiently sensitive. We have therefore devised a scheme in which the last stage of the leverage is taken by knife-edge levers, instead of by the clutch fingers as originally intended. The additional parts required are shown in detail on drawing Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}486 herewith, the whole of the rig already made being used. Will you please have these extra parts made. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/NRC.{N. R. Chandler} | ||
