Re: GFN-52. Dr. James Thompson.

We are returning to you per parcel post a set of six K.L.G. plugs removed from this chassis.

Your records will show you that a week or two ago, this car went through your Cricklewood Works department for decarbonising etc.

Yesterday the owner, Dr. James Thompson, approached us and complained of the bad running of the car. The writer accompanied him for a few miles and immediately diagnosed plug trouble. As soon as the throttle was more than quarter open, a drying up sensation was experienced accompanied by slight back firing through the carburetter. A new set of No.8 special Champion plugs was fitted and car ran perfectly.

Dr. Thompson has requested us to take this matter up with you, not so much in a spirit of fault finding and complaint as for your own guidance. He has been suffering from this defect for several days and it was only with the greatest possible care that he was able to disguise from such friends as have accompanied him in the car that there was something seriously amiss with the engine. We ourselves are of opinion that K.L.G's are not the most satisfactory of plugs and possibly our experience in this instance may be of interest to you.
