P.III FRONT SUSPENSION DAMPERS. We have had a few cases of oil being pumped out of the front suspension units through the breather, which is fitted in order to release the air from the top of the casing when the casing is being filled with oil. 34-EX in Nairobi and 35-EX in France have had this trouble. It is caused from dirt temporarily getting under one of the damper replenishing valves. As it is impossible to avoid any dirt getting into the damper, it will be necessary to have no breather under running conditions. We should, therefore, like a design for either a filler which does not require a separate breather, or a breather which is only opened to the atmosphere whilst the damper units are being filled. Wraith front suspension unit will require similar attention. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Les.{Ivan A. Leslie} | ||
