Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}/Mcrl/L9715. 9.7.15. In reference to Mr Johnson's query on the attached as to whether we should sell 1926, I have consulted Mr Haldenby in the matter and he says that seeing that the Experimental shop only have two cars he would prefer to keep both of them until 49GB has been despatched to Mr Royce and we have 58NA{Mr Nadin} returned to us, then, he thinks we should at once sell 1926. With reference to despatching 49GB to Mr Royce, I have seen Mr Haldenby this morning and he states that the car is going to Holmes Bros. this morning to have the body fitted, but when it returns there are quite a number of things which must be done to the car before it is sent to Mr Royce . For instance the Gear Box has to be dismantled in order to fit the speedometer drive gear wheels having a different ratio. Mr Bailey is also ordering an 80 mile speedometer to replace the 60 mile speedometer at present fitted. The back axle is very noisy and requires a new pair of bevel wheels fitting. The engine does not seem a very good one and it leaks oil badly. The dynamo requires re-winding. | ||
