Specifications WHEELBASE—116 inches. FRAME—Channel side members 6 inches deep with 6 cross members. SPRINGS—Semi-elliptic, front and rear—38 inches and 56 inches long, respectively—mounted in rubber knuckles which are rattle-proof, require no lubrication and add to riding quality. Exceptionally long life. WHEELS—Wood, artillery type with 5.25 x 29 balloon tires. (Wire wheels available at additional cost.) FRONT AXLE—I-beam reverse Elliot type of special Marmon design, with front-wheel brake mechanism built-in. REAR AXLE—Semi-floating, with new hypoid spiral bevel gear drive. CLUTCH—Single plate with elastic drive plate, in unit with engine and transmission. TRANSMISSION—Three speeds forward and reverse, in unit with engine. Oversize gears. STEERING SYSTEM—Cam and lever type. Especially designed for four-wheel brakes and balloon tires. No shimmy. BRAKING SYSTEM—Four-wheel mechanical Bendix type; self-energizing. CONTROLS—Spark and throttle and light controls centrally located on steering wheel. Gearshift and hand brake lever centrally located without sacrifice of leg room. Carburetor adjustment and choke operated by single control on steering column. "Ankle action" clutch and brake pedals in regular position. Accelerator with large foot rest and starting button at right of brake pedal. Ignition button on dash. Instrument board illumination controlled by button on dash. ENGINE—Eight cylinders in line en bloc; overhead valves. Marmon design and manufacture. Bore and stroke, The Engine 2¾ x 4 inches. Total piston displacement, 190.067 cubic inches. S. A.{Mr Adams} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} horsepower rating, 24.2. Actual brake horsepower, 64 at 3200 r.p.m. Four-point suspension. Equidistant downdraft manifolding. Five main bearings, 2¼ inches in diameter. Connecting rod bearings, 2⅛ inch diameter. Engine equipped with Marmon modulator. VALVES—Especially designed for quick-cooling, quietness and permanence of adjustment. CAMSHAFT—Five bearings, pressure lubricated—one-piece drop forging. CONNECTING RODS—I-beam section drop forged. PISTONS—Aluminum with new Invar Strut which insures correct fit of pistons at all temperatures. CAMSHAFT DRIVE—Silent chain. LUBRICATION—Gear type pump located in oil sump with self-contained regulator. Full pressure feed to main bearings, rods, camshaft and rocker arms. Automatic oil priming device which lubricates cylinder walls and pistons immediately upon starting, preventing usual wear and scuffing at this period. New type oil purifier. COOLING—Cellular type radiator (4½ gallon capacity) with centrifugal pump. Radiometer on instrument board. FUEL SYSTEM—Large size vacuum tank on dash. Storage tank on rear of chassis with non-losable filler cap. Quantity gauge on instrument board. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM—Starting and lighting, three-unit type. Delco-Remy. Para-beam headlamps with steering wheel control. Marmon type three-way rear lamp. CHASSIS LUBRICATION—Rubber spring knuckles (in place of shackles) require no lubrication. Front axle, Meyers magazine oilers. STANDARD EQUIPMENT—Includes Lovejoy hydraulic shock absorbers; tire carrier of practically same type as used on large Marmon (Series 75), with rustproof, waterproof lock; front bumpers and rear bumperettes of new rubbercushioned shock-absorbing type; double rear-view mirror; automatic vacuum type windshield cleaner; electric horn; cigar lighter; combination tail, stop and backing lamp; French drum-type headlamps and cowl lamps; rest for hood when raised; instrument panel indirectly lighted by two bulbs, contains speedometer, oil pressure gauge, ammeter, electric clock, radiometer and gasoline quantity gauge. Fedco number plate. Spare tires not included in standard equipment. Cars sold under standard warranty adopted by the National Automobile Chamber of Commerce, Inc., for passenger and commercial vehicles. The manufacturer reserves the right to make changes or improvements at any time without thereby incurring any obligations, either to install the same on motor cars previously sold or to install the old part, which has been changed, improved, or omitted, in new cars subsequently sold.
