Contd. -2- R5/G27.819. ---------- early and very effective clutch brake. Personally, I prefer a very free clutch when it is out, although it is a little slower to change gear with, but is, I think easier in the hands of a novice. It also helps in the ease of getting in and out gears, including the reverse when car is standing. It should also be understood that to change gear at high speeds with any car it is necessary to double clutch. To change speeds when the car is moving very slowly does not require this practice. Many times I have introduced a retaining ring for the clutch lubricating oil, at last I believe it has found favour, and is being fitted. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
