COPY 600a also 200a CHATEAUROUX. 1/28.1.38 To Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/IMW.{Ivan M. Waller - Head of Chateauroux} 6.B.1V. and 26.G.V1. Thank you for phoning me. We will meet 26.G.V1. off the morning cargo boat at Boulogne on Monday morning, January 31st., leaving here after lunch on Sunday, unless we hear to the contrary. I will meet you at Dieppe on Saturday morning February 5th. and have the necessary itinerary planned out. We wish to confirm that we require a new clutch plate for 6.B.1V. We shall postpone dismantling to discover the cause of the oil leak from the gearbox into the clutch housing until the new plate arrives. Sr. is sending his report on his trial of 6.B.1V. direct to you. We will let you have all possible information of the combined Girling-R.R. brake system when we have had some running with the new front linings. Until then we cannot say much about the effect of the reduced front leverage on the thumping. We will bear in mind your decision to standardise if possible when making our observations.
