Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd.,
Experimental Department,
DERBY.

Dear Sirs,
Attention of Mr. C.T.Salt.

With further reference to your esteemed Order No. 58201 for Pistons to Drawing No. RE.784, RE.785, and RE.786; we should be glad to know if you would agree to the incorporation of a shallow spigot about ¼" long, machined up the inside of the Skirt for location purposes.

There is also a point in connection with the grinding. We take it that you no longer wish us to use the form grinding which we have hitherto adopted when making Pistons for you, either of Aerolite design or your own. If this is so, it would be necessary for us to determine whether our grinding fixtures could be modified in such a way to produce a result similar to your own, or whether we should need to make up a completely new fixture.

Alternately, of course, you might care to consider the possibility of grinding the skirts yourselves, we doing all the other work up to that point. If on considering this matter you decide that you wish us to do the work, would you be good enough to provide us with a drawing of the fixture you use to enable us to determine it's adaptability to our machines.

Yours faithfully,
FOR THE LIGHT PRODUCTION CO.LTD.

[Signature: W.N.Brooks]
General Manager.
