Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}2/LT.23.10.40. 2. Thank you for the gearbox details. We are going into these carefully to see how they correspond with our current practice. We should be interested to have particulars of the valve lubrica-tion feed, since we have never managed to use cones of such small angle. On the other hand, one of our limitations to cone angle has been the necessity for engaging second from rest. I shall be forwarding the crankshaft and tappet information in the course of a few posts. I understand that you have had a bomb in the Factory, and hope it did not do extensive damage. I have found out that there are "Christie" tanks in the country and, if we go further into tank design, I should like to take you down to have a look at them. Yours sincerely, | ||
