P. FROM E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} SECRET. x 5050. E2/M10.1.31. C. to BG. OR. HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} C. to HY.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} RMC. 28HP. CYLINDER BLOCK. We send herewith LeC. 2858. shewing an outline of a 3.4 bore cylinder on the existing 25HP. centres. You will notice that the minimum distance between the cylinder skirts is .425, which will be .3 less than we have at present owing to the larger bore. We should be glad to know if Works consider this is a practicable machining job, and if not, what expansion of the centres is considered necessary to make it so.
