THE TRIPPE SAFETY SPEED LIGHT CO. LTD. LIVERPOOL. 3. 2. Provided due attention is given to the theoretical aspects of fog work, and the Lamp mounted with these considerations in mind, the combination of effects produced by the TRIPPE lamp, makes top gear work a possibility in anything but an exceptionally dense fog. The real limiting factor to progress, is not the lack of light, but the density of the fog between the driver's eyes and where the Light is shining. It will be appreciated that provided the light source is powerful and non-glaring, and as the driver in most cases is well above the light source, it must be an exceptional fog to actually bring a TRIPPE equipped vehicle to a complete stand-still, due to lack of visibility. A highly concentrated spot, such as the usual fog lamp projects, is successful only in as far as there is less chance of a diffused beam from such a pencil of light than from the ordinary average-focus Headlamp, but once the position of controlled light is arrived at, as in the TRIPPE lamp, the more light available for use the better, a fact which is borne out in practice, although seemingly at variance with the average experience. The whole subject is related to the control of the beams and the mounting of the actual Lamp producing the Light. A correctly mounted TRIPPE Fog Lamp will allow driving in conditions when all other Lamps prove useless. | ||
