1031 RM.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}5/ML. Carbs. 13.11.40. C.Skinner,Esq., S.U.Carburettors Ltd., East Works, Bordesley Green Road, Adderley Park, BIRMINGHAM,8. Dear Skinner, Thank you so much for the excellent time you gave us today. Reiterating the three points which arose as a result of our discussion :- 1. We hope you will let us have two 2½" S.U. carburettors at your earliest convenience. 2. We should like a sample electrical petrol pump, capable of delivering 250 pints/hour against a pressure head of 3 ft. + 1 lb/sq.in. at a temperature of 120 deg. F.{Mr Friese} The suction lift will be negligible. 3. You will let us have a print of the hot spot and induction centre that you recommend for a horizontal S.U., feeding into the centre of a 6-cylinder pipe. We were extremely interested in the progress you have made with your injection pump and new type carburettor and as soon as either of these developments reaches a stage where you have a unit to spare, we should be very grateful if you would let us have one for test. We will complete an air silencer for an 8 h.p. Morris car and then send it along to you. Would you then be good enough to try it out and tell us whether it is as bad as A.C. and Burgess efforts at ruining your part throttle economy. Yours sincerely, | ||
