To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} 4327 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}11/KW.12.6.35. Frame Rigidity Experiments. We understand that the SpectreCodename for Phantom III frame we have just twisted is not required for a car. Will you please therefore re-fit the cross and remove the boxing on both side members forward of the cross for a further torsion test. We are very anxious to complete our test on the Bentley frame with the front cross, after which we should like the side members forward of the front body mounting boxed in. Will you please prepare the necessary parts for this with a view to their adaptability to a complete car if successful. We shall shortly be sending you sketches of a cross for the middle of the frame for test purposes. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} has agreed to 5-B-IV body being fitted to this frame for trial in conjunction with the various crosses. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} | ||
