Dear Sirs,

We have to acknowledge your letter of 20th instant, reference as above, and have read that letter with much interest.

Whilst we agree in general with the analysis recalled in that letter, yet we are of the opinion that it is rather a practical matter than a mathematical one.

We should like to take this opportunity of assuring you that we are keeping and intend to keep the finish of the needle seats up to the standard agreed upon, as set forth in your letter:Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GR.{George Ratcliffe}15.7.37.

However, we have had a very great deal of experience on the subject of needles and seatings, and that experience inclines us towards using every endeavour

P.T.O.
