re Peregrine and Bensport.
-----------------------

Referring to your memo WOR.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}2/T.24.10.32., a meeting was held of BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} and E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} and the following report was made out:

Peregrine.

Generally speaking we are up to programme on Peregrine. Three chassis have been completed, one which is being modernised in advance of programme for a 10,000 miles test.

This last chassis has the following modifications:-

Bijur Luvax lubrication system (olive type fittings).
New flywheel and clutch (Borg and Beck type.)
Latest gearbox.
Wider brake shoes and drums.
Rear axle gear with increased tooth area.

Further chassis are following through but it is not advisable to urge immediate completion pending decision with regard to certain points.

Bensport.

The position with regard to Bensport is that we have for the time being dropped the supercharger engine, with the exception of the Rootes type blower, and are concentrating on egtting the J.1 engine modified into the design.

Apart from the engine installation we still require a large part of the gearbox from WW, as follows :-

Gearbox Suspension.
Change gear and brake mechanism.
Servo and drive.
Coupling between clutch and gearbox.
Semi-hydraulic brake gear.
