(W/S) Whr.{Mr Wheeler} From Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to C. c. to Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} X7120 Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}3/MJ.3.7.30. CONTINENTAL CAR - 26-EX. This chassis was delivered to Messrs. Barkers' yesterday. We note from one of Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}'s memos that Barkers' promised to have this completed by the 19th. July. We should like to know what programme you have arranged for this car. At present the only part on this car which is not standard are the road springs. We shall require the car for about a fortnight to complete the testing. We also propose adding to this car extra friction shock absorbers as were fitted to the late Sir Henry Segrave's car. As you are aware, the works will be closing down on the 26th. July for eight days and therefore we should like you to take this into consideration when arranging the programme for this car.
