To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson} c. to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} c. to DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} X4555 Y7800 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn{Mr Robinson}4/LG22.10.28: RE. DIPPING HEAD LAMPS FOR STD: PHANTOM. With reference to BY7/G19.10.28. We issued a standardisation sheet for the parts as fitted to 12-EX - these parts have run 10,000 miles. They were made to drg. supplied by the D.O. For all practical purposes we look upon 12-EX as a G2B. series car. The main difference between 12-EX and G2B. series is the centre-point lubrication, but this does not affect the dipping head lights appreciably. The reason we issued a std. sheet was because we know that R.{Sir Henry Royce} is most anxious to get rid of the Barker schemes and therefore we do not want to be obstructionists.
