re 4¼ LITRE BENTLEY CHASSIS WEIGHTS

We are attaching, for your information, a copy of our EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}/Thn8/MH.{M. Huckerby}24.3.36 and copy of Experimental Department's reply ref. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Std.17/KW.2.4.36.

As chassis are complete before they are handed over to us for final acceptance test, we are only concerned with the complete chassis weights, and are in agreement with such weights as given in sheets (1), (2) and (3) attached to the Experimental Department memorandum.

We feel, however, that in view of the Experimental Department memo, especially in regard to the paragraph marked X under "Conclusions", that you will wish to investigate the discrepancy between the expected saving of chassis weight of 32½ lbs. as against the actual saving weight of 18 lbs.
