+4522 Ru To Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} and Wes. from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} By-Dev re Bumper Bar on Bentleys. I have been over the question of fitting a bumper bar to existing Bentleys, with a view to reducing the front end movement and by making a ferrule with a suitable abutment with a key to be hand fitted to the existing dumb iron and by using a stout stud permanently screwed and pinned into a fitted nut within the recess behind the front face of the dumb iron, I feel confident we can make a good job of the attachment without altering the existing chassis beyond drilling a larger hole in the front face of the dumb iron. For the same attachment on future chassis we should simply leave a boss in the stamping for a plain stud and avoid the use of the special fitted nut. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
