Hyatt Roller Bearing.
We tested the Hyatt Roller Bearing in the box by itself driving the shafts by means of a belt. There was no doubt about the noise coming from the roller bearing. We quite agree with your remarks, however, that American cars use these bearings and are silent. It may be that we have fitted the roller bearing too tightly which is the cause of it making the noise. We will test the bearing again with different clearances to see whether it will be more silent. *The policy we adopt in connection with troubles on Goshawk ll. is, whenever a part gives trouble we modify it so that it follows the practice which has proved successful on the 40/50 H.P.*
