X237 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} 31.10.34. N.S.3647 Bentley Prop. Shaft. Roller Bearing Sliding Joint. The results obtained with this particular shaft were not too consistent, and the results shown in the attached graph are average figures. They do show, however, a vast improvement over previous types. At one particular place near the beginning of the outward travel, the slider had a tendency to stick, requiring a torque of approximately 40 LB/FT. only, to hold a load of 100 lb, presumably due to a badly worn spot.
