AUTHORISATION SHEET NO.1. ************************************ We have received a modification to the piston for the above series, which it was agreed to put in hand for 100 sets, and to put on the 10,000 miles test car. The modification in question represents some improvements telegraphed by R.{Sir Henry Royce} when he received E's drawing of the proposed piston. It has meant a new core box, but we have been working over the weekend on the core box and Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} and BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} agree it is most desirable to incorporate it; and secondly, agree it will not cause any delay either in starting out the test car or having pistons fitted to the "V" Series chassis.
