TO E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} P.C.) FROM R.{Sir Henry Royce} BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}) (At Le CanadelHenry Royce's French residence.) Copy to - WOR.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} BJ. X4041 R1/M9.2.27. DESPATCHED FROM WW. 12.2.27. IGNITION - BATTERY & MAGNETO CONTACT BREAKER. - CLOCK. X5790 X4041 X I am not quite sure E's off-set angle of 25/30° is measured correctly: I take it E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} means - B. & C. pass through the centre of the cam 25° to 30° apart, A.{Mr Adams} is at right angles to B. All taken at half lift (point of break.) E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} does not give line A.{Mr Adams} Sketches are not intended to be taken for drawing, because if so, 25/30° seems altogether too much. On the 20HP. does the magneto spark burn the distributor points? Ought we to have inductor type which I understand is OK. with jump spark distributor? I understand we are asking for a sleeveless magneto for the 20HP. as well as the 40/50. We are urgent-ly awaiting Watford's samples of these, and the clock. Will BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} ask them when we can hope to have them? R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
