X.8992 B Restaurant - October, Le-Canadel. Par-Le-Lavandou. (Var) France. 17.4.29. Mr Hives from Dodd. We have broken the O.S.R shock damper, on 18EX. The end of the piston being smashed out. The casing was only slightly damaged, and we hope to effect temporary repairs to the piston, to enable the return trip to be made with same. We propose cutting 1/4 m/m off the broken end of piston and tapping a new piece in as per sketch. Hope to have this OK by Fri. Damper broke down before increased poundage could be put into effect. was listed as 80 - 60 lbs with restriction washers fitted. N.S.R. damper quite OK, but have removed the restriction washers, as we are running about with the one damper for few days. | ||
