You asked me to get this matter settled when at Crowborough. I submitted Mr Spinney's designs to Mr Royce but he is not satisfied that the scheme suggested would be satisfactory. He has made certain suggestions, which I have passed on to Mr Spinney who will again go into the matter.

Something must be done in this matter. We cannot continue to send our L-E cars which scorch people's feet. Report to me how the matter stands at present.
