| REPORT ON RUNNING OF 27-G-V1. Mileage since fitting parts for C or future series 5,318 as detailed in Mx. {John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} 10/W.21.11.38. Total mileage .. 27,112 Average petrol consumption 14.75 M.P.G. Average Oil consumption 3000 M.P.G. Engine. Continues quiet and smooth. Slow running is very good, no loss of compression, with standard cylinder head. Mileage .. 5,318 Engine gears free from rattle. Camwheel light type in Attwater fine grain material. No measurable slack has developed. Mileage .. 24,127 It is intended to run a Metalastik coupling giving increased flexibility to dynamo drive. Delivery of this part suitable for Wraith is awaited. We are having trouble with occasional slight misfiring at 18 to 20 M.P.H. picking up under load. This is being investigated. Clutch. Continues satisfactory and consistent in operation. Borg & Beck unit with Thermoid facing. Mileage .. 27,043 Parallel link movement to clutch operating mechanism. Mileage .. 16,536 Gearbox. Good for silence, synchro mesh operation excellent, no signs of gears coming out. Weak type 1st Motion shaft fitted - Mileage .. 38,318 of this part. plus 18 hours running on dynamometer.
