REPORT ON 4 C.S.S.C. PETROL PUMPS RETURNED BY KINGSBURY DEPOT. Chassis No.B.82.GA. Pump No. RB.{R. Bowen}2028. Complaint Noisy. This was only noisy on the rig when air was admitted to the suction pipe. Both impact washers were in position and there was no visible reason why this pump should be different from any other. If there is a filter under the bonnet on this chassis the vapour formed there may be the cause of the trouble provided there are no air leaks. On further examination a small metal cutting had been left in the pump when the pump was modified and had scored the armature and pot. This would not account for noise. Chassis B.32.AM. Pump No.RB.{R. Bowen}101. Complaint Noisy. The impact washers and setting were all right, and the pump was only noisy on the rig when air was admitted to the line. Chassis B.75.HM.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} Pump 051219. ex stock. Complaint N.S. unit weak on test rig. Neither side of this pump would function when it was received, the valves of both units being gummed to their seats. This is the same pump examined 6.1.38. when we could only find a discoloured valve. It was cleaned, examined and tested when it gave the following delivery before return = R.H. unit 1 pint in 55 seconds at 18" head. L.H. unit 1 pint in 63 seconds at 18" head. | ||
