AUTOMATIC ADVANCE IGNITION MECHANISM.

Referring to the scale lever shewn on drawing LeC. 1926., whereby the motion of the governor is transmitted to the master valve controlling the working piston it should be realised that the yoke which is attached to the governor end of the lever is intended to have a split boss sawn through horizontally. This allows the screw shewn to clamp the yoke firmly to the stump provided on the lever in a position which is set by the thrust collar of the governor sleeve.

To make the screw more accessible and to enable the setting to be accomplished with the shaft in its bearings we think the screw head should be of the hexagon pattern. We believe you will find this can be reached with a small spanner through the port in which the lever operates. The screw driver nick may be retained as a convenience in the head if desired.
