Messrs. Borg & Beck Ltd.,
Tachbrook Road,
Leamington Spa.

For the attention of Mr. Barker.

Dear Sirs,

We should be glad to have the 11A3 type clutch which you are modifying according to our letter of the 11th inst. as soon as possible. We wish to use this clutch for testing in France and do not want to delay the build up of the engine.

We should also like you to urge the 10A6 clutch and driven plate which are being modified according to our letter of the 13th inst.

You will be pleased to hear that we have run an 11" clutch with S82 eyebolts for 20 hours without trouble. You will remember that using the old type of eyebolt on a previous 11" clutch, failure occurred within 10 hours. The later test, however, has not been run under quite such severe conditions.

Confirming our telephone conversation of the 14th inst., we shall require moulded facings on the 11" clutches which you are supplying for production cars. With regard to the oil slinger, we feel we ought to have trials on the 11" clutch, but on referring to some of your plates fitted with slingers, which we have run on cars, we find that the slingers have worked loose owing to wear in the rivet holes. We should like an early opportunity of discussing this matter with you personally, and shall look forward to an early visit.
