STANDARDISATION of CHASSIS PARTS.

Description of Parts.
Deletion of security bolts for tyres.

Origin.
To avoid tyre failures.

Experimental Test Report.
All of the leading tyre makers have abandoned the use of security bolts. The present security bolts which are manufactured are only suitable for fabric tyres - cord tyres need a special type owing to alteration in shape of tread.

Road Test Report.
We have carried out tests on the road with and without security bolts. The results show that with properly fitted security bolts, a flat tyre might be delayed in coming off but is not prevented.
