We attach herewith curves which shew the increase in HP. we have been able to obtain from a Std. P.2 engine with various modifications. It will be seen by the curve that with the modified camshaft, increase in compression ratio from 4.6 to 4.9 (this we have already done to certain customers cars- and twin carburetters free exhaust, we can increase our HP. at 3300 R.P.M. from 130 to 165 BHP. When considering camshafts we recommend that a masked type inlet valve should be considered. Ricardo has done a lot of work on this type of valve and should be able to give us some useful information. The engine runs quite smoothly at 3500 R.P.M. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
