You remark that Lord Herbert Scott thinks that " the chain gear quadrant should be nearer the driver so as to help coach builders", and with reference to this you ask " What is being done in this respect " The Committee decided some time ago that Mr Bailey should go into the question of fitting the quadrant on the inside of the frame, and also that he should arrange the side levers more conveniently to suit the torpedo dash, preferably by other means than by shortening. Mr Bailey had been into these matters, but has not been able to arrange satisfactorily for the quadrant to be fitted to the inside of the frame, and has also found it impossible to alter the levers except by shortening them.
