Confirming our conversation, we shall be glad to know exactly what we hope to save by using un-machined connecting rods.

We assume that the only difference between the coining process and the ordinary straight forged rod is that we should be able to get the dimensions of the big end width and the little end width accurately without machining.

We should also like you to obtain an estimate of the saving which would be brought about by the crankshaft which is not machined on the webs and which has integral balance weights.
